 Campbell Boats, Lake Havasu City's first boat manufacturer in Lake Havasu City, Arizona.  The
company was founded by the Campbell family in Burbank, California,
building fiberglass over wood boats in the 17 to 40 foot range. The
22 foot Catalina Weekend Cruiser, introduced in 1953, later evolved
into the 24 foot Cuddy Cabin, Campbell's most popular model. Bob
and Billy Campbell moved the facility to Lake Havasu City in 1970
and sold the business to Bob and Judy Whelan in 1973. The Whelans
added a 22 foot and 28 foot model to the 20, 24 and 32 foot line
of all-fiberglass boats custom built under the Campbell name. |

Over the years, about 900 Campbell boats were
built and the owners keep in close touch, with several get-togethers throughout
the year, ranging from cool weather 4 wheel drive excursions to the granddaddy
of all boating reunions, the annual Campbell Regatta, which includes competitive
events and a popular parade of decorated boats under the London Bridge. 
Today,
according to Bob Whelan, the Campbell boat maintains the tradition that
has made it popular with its owners. "It's the overall quality of
the construction that made it a good boat. Every part is the best we could
make it. You may need to replace the engine, but the boat will go on forever."
Campbell maintains all personnel necessary, including woodworking, upholstery, top and cover construction, detailing and electrical, mechanical and fiberglass repair. Having all this under one roof is a great convenience for boaters as they don't have to tow their boat from shop to shop to get work done.
In addition to expanding the manufacturing and repair facilities, the Whelans have expanded the business in other ways. In 1977, boat storage buildings were added, now totaling 449 units with additional storage in the main building and outside as well. In 1990, looking for a line of quality production boats to compliment its custom built Campbells, Campbell Boats became a Cobalt dealer. Since then new Godfrey pontoons, Rinker ski boats and Hurricane deck boats have been added to the
dealer line, along with an ever-changing group of consignment boats.
Throughout the years, Campbell Boats has prided itself on providing the very best service to both the boat owner and his craft.
In 2008 we expanded again to our newest location with showroom, boat accessories, service and more storage units available.
"With our launch and retrieval service, customers can fly or drive in and find their boat in the slip, serviced and ready with the ice chest stocked. It makes for a very relaxing weekend and that is what boating is all about."
